Paris 2024 Olympics Hospitality
On Location, appointed in 2021 as the exclusive hospitality provider for the Paris 2024 Games, faced the unprecedented task of delivering services to tens of thousands of clients across more than 130 venues in Paris and throughout France. As the event approached in late 2023, there was a critical need to transition from planning to readiness, focusing on developing a robust Games-Time structure and conducting readiness exercises to build capability.
Ikosaeder established a pre-Games governance structure and initiated planning for Games-Time Communication, Command, and Control (C3) with a training and awareness program at the functional level, alongside a parallel program at the executive level focusing on crisis management. We developed a readiness strategy addressing key gaps and risks, integrating On Location-specific exercises with broader Games-Wide simulations run by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Paris 2024. Additionally, we designed the Hospitality Operations Centre (HOC), including its space, layout, technology setup, and information-sharing tools, to facilitate real-time issue resolution during the Games.
Our collaboration resulted in the successful implementation of a comprehensive operational readiness program, including the development of tools, templates, and documentation for both functional and Games-Wide needs. We supported the creation of processes for managing competition schedule changes and their impact on client itineraries, which were tested and refined during readiness exercises and successfully implemented during the Games. The established processes and frameworks provide a lasting legacy for On Location’s future projects.
